Ceylon White Tea Elixirs: Silver Tips & Golden Tips
Among the most exclusive teas in the world, Ceylon Silver Tips and Golden Tips represent the absolute peak of luxury tea production. Produced in tiny quantities in high-altitude estates, these micro-batch white teas are sought after by royal houses, luxury hotels, and connoisseurs globally.
How Silver Tips Are Harvested
Unlike black or green teas which use young open leaves, White Ceylon Tea uses only unopened, velvety leaf buds from a specific cultivar (Camellia sinensis var. formosensis).
- Dawn Plucking: Pluckers carefully select tender silvery buds before the morning sun evaporates precious essential dew.
- Zero Machinery: Buds are plucked strictly by hand into silk-lined pouches to prevent bruising.
- Natural Sun Drying: Buds are spread on raised linen beds to dry naturally in mountain sunlight and breezes without rolling or artificial firing.
Tasting Profile
- Aroma: Delicate notes of fresh pine needles, wild honey, and white peaches.
- Liquor: Pale straw gold, velvety smooth with virtually zero astringency.
- Re-steeping Value: High-grade Silver Tips can be steeped 4 to 5 times, revealing evolving subtleties in each cup.
